Frederika Ionescu is a vocalist and composer based in New York City. Having found her footing in British Colombia, Canada, she continues to travel through influences of multiple genres from French chanson to jazz and R&B to create her distinct sound. She has previously performed at the International Festival of Song in Granby, Quebec, the International Jazz Festival in Victoria, BC and multiple venues in Vancouver and New York, such as The Waterfront Theatre, Rockwood Music Hall and Greenpoint 42.

Ionescu continues to work as a leader in her band, varying in size from duo to quintet, which presents variations of free jazz, modern R&B and is also a member of the New York-based all-women’s a capella group VICE, where she also arranges for the group. 

Now in her final year of graduate studies at the New School, she uses the influences from her previous jazz studies and the vast amount of art in the city to compose and perform with many instruments. She plans to release her first album in 2025.
